CS:S Beta
August 15th 2004, 16:52 CEST by ProStyle

By the time this gets voted on the quoted dates will have already passed. The discussion is really intended for gameplay impressions from the CS:Source Beta and other comments about the Source engine after we've all played a few rounds. The Half Life 2 preloading content is a relatively moot point, seeing as how there's nothing to comment on except full release date speculation.

Jason X is a guilty pleasure I suppose.  But I love a lot of cheesy movies.

Let me guess, you were once a convict who survived a plane crash?

Or maybe you have a collection of wifebeater shirts just like the one Cage had, plus you're a secret mullet fancier?

Actually, I share a birthday with Nicholas Cage's character's daughter and a last name with John Cusack's character.

I just remembered.  Another guilty pleasure movie of mine is "The Big Hit".  I don't know why I enjoy it, but I do.

m0nty-

I can't find an imdb listing for the movie Kylie.

And if it's a girl's movie and you like it, it's a guilty pleasure. Titanic fits the bill.

If we are counting splatter movies, then insert every single one of them here. All the Friday the 13ths, Nightmare on Elmstreets, the first Halloween, and so on.

Pretty.

I think a lot of people went into The Big Hit expecting a serious action movie rather than a comedy spoof. I didn't and I loved it.

Is that really a guilty pleasure?  I thought that guilty pleasures were bad movies that someone liked.  Titanic may be a girls movie, but I don't think it was in the bad category.

It's a guilty pleasure because I feel guilty about enjoying it.

Almost all my guilty pleasures are chick flicks - About A Boy, When Harry Met Sally, stuff like that.  Also, Weird Science; so awful but I always watch it if it's on the tube.

I love Weird Science...

And I don't really feel guilty about liking the romantic comedies, I just don't bring it up at parties and shit.  :D  My wife loves them, so I end up seeing them all.  When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail...  all classics.

Sweet jesus. Why are you using C++ to cobble together a backup system?

Use C# and DateTime.Now() and forget the batchfiles.

By the way, if signatures weren't for perverts, I'd totally sig this.

Goddamn, are you bad about that.

Also, I wasn't using C++ to put together a backup system. I just made a quick program to create a batch file that would rename a file with the correct date.

However, I have started on a Windows app that applies the same backup method with configuration and all that fun stuff. I'll dive into C# sometime, I'm sure.
